Winter in Nevada

Our new gate feature was added to the front courtyard yesterday.  I love the way it turned out.  In the spring I'll be hunting for a few patio chairs, etc.  In the summer when the back yard has no morning shade I'll be out here relaxing.

 

 
 

We have a new resident in our backyard.  Little Peter Cottontail.  We saw him first a few days ago but by the time we got the camera he had scampered off.  We lured  him back with carrots the next day.  He didn't eat the carrots but he posed for a picture next to the waterfall.  Isn't he a cutie!!

 

 
Snowing & blowing like crazy a few days ago.  Today is sunny but cold.

From one pumpkin to another! 

A woman was asked by a coworker, 'What is it like to be a Christian?'

She replied, 'It's like being a pumpkin.  God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off of you.  Then He cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff.

He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, and greed.  Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see.'

This was passed on to me by another pumpkin.  

I liked this enough to send it to all the pumpkins in my patch.

I'm pooped!  What a day - laundry, house cleaning, patio furniture cleaning, grocery shopping, cooking & food prep for tomorrow.  There will be a group of family & friends here tomorrow for "hopefully" a BBQ, weather permitting. 

Here's hoping that all of you folksies have a wonderful Eastertime holiday : )

Happy Holidays visitors!   I hope everyone has a wonderful day tomorrow & I wish health & happiness for 2009.   As for me, the three of us will be going to my nephew's home for the day along with lots of other relatives.  I just finished baking 100 stuffed mushrooms to take along  : )  YUM
