We spent 5 weeks at Lake Shasta this spring. Just beautiful. On the way between Susanville & Redding we pass this tree. I call it the "shoe tree". Lots of tennis shoes hanging from it. Not a good pic but we were zooming by.
Every year we look for the baby goslings & ducklings. This year we couldn't find the babies but we did find some toddlers swimming by the boat. I threw a few cracker crumbs & they made a b-line towards us.
Meanwhile, back at camp ...
We celebrated Frank's 90th birthday. He still drives his trailer & boat up the coast & stays the whole time. He's been going to this camping spot & Shasta area since the 1960's! Most of his old time fishing pals are gone now so he says now he's hanging out the the baby boomers : )

Prior to this vacation I spent 3 mos writing a self published family tree book for my husband & his family. That took practically all of my free time but I wanted it done this spring before Shasta plans. I was surprised to find what an interesting family he had. Kings & Queens from England, Ireland, Scotland & France; Marc Anthony & Cleopatra; Mayflower ancestors; a Founding Father, an Indian Chief; Civil War & American Revolution soldiers; pioneers of Maryland, Virginia, the Carolinas, Georgia, etc. It just went on & on. After I had the book published I'm still finding more ...
With all of this plus my husband having some health issues I have been a busy bee so not much posting lately.
