Yesterday Shirley & I went to the Genoa Arts & Crafts Festival. I couldn't believe how many vendors were there in that tiny town. There were vendors from all around the U. S. We walked & shopped for about 5 hrs & we still didn't see everything. We took a shuttle from the high school as many of the streets in Genoa were closed & parking was a nightmare. As we went up the hill to Genoa I felt like we were on the bus in Sicily again. It was a beautiful day, not too hot, just right.
The kids had fun going on horsey rides.
A historical house for sale. Shirley said the color reminded her of Pepto Bismol - a bit too bright. The wooden walkway almost gave in when we crossed it.
This has to be the most "loved" antique store doll I've ever seen. Poor baby : )
Ron here is the owner of the antique shop. Lots of "real" antiques.
Next door is Lis's antique store called "The Cobweb Palace". A tiny store but packed full of pretty things. Here is her blog. She makes fun recycled jewelry pieces & also sells them on Etsy & Artfire. Artfire is new to me.
Cobweb treasures ...
I found this piece interesting. She said it was a portable pantry & spice bin from around the turn of the century that could have been used in a wagon. Visions of gypsies danced in my head.
Some lovely jewelry creations.
Next we went to Nevada's oldest Thirst Parlor for a look inside.
Terrrible lighting inside so excuse the photo quality.
This treasure is said to be Raquel Welch's bra, hanging there since the 1970's, just a tad dingy.
Shirley found a safe full of other lady's bras.
We wanted to get our photos with the local law enforcement. Wyatt Earp & Doc Holiday.
My dorky $3.00 hat
