Here is Shirley's great aunt's dresser I just finished refinishing. It's now living in our bedroom instead of the garage.

Now with the GIANT 70's dresser gone I have more room along this sliding door wall so we can actually GET OUT THE DOOR!

My sewing room is almost finished : )

I found this cute little green table at Home Goods. It had a few scratches on the top so was on clearance. I snapped it up. I decided to collage the top with numerous magazine photos in pinks & greens & a few stickers then varnish the top so I can use it as a work table.

We finished assembling the other two bookcases so now I have room for all my "stuff". The bottom shelves are temporarily covered here as those shelves have more cluttery stuff & the sun hits them.

Have you seen this cute fabric! It is music & dictionary words with the pretty vintage bird prints. I used it for the actual bookcase curtains & plan to make a few other things with it.

On this wall we assembled this dresser drawer. It hold 1/2 of my fabric. We have another dresser just like it to put together for the rest of the fabric.

I repainted my old lingerie chest green & it holds all my ribbons & vintage millinery. The white dresser holds half of my fabric. We have one more white dresser to put together for the rest of the fabric. The large oval frame & Victorian diploma & the rectangle Joan of Arc print & frame were thrift store finds.

This big frame & layers of matting & lace was another thrift store find. It had a needlepoint picture in it & I replaced that with a Victorian marriage license. I plan to paint the frame a lighter color.

A Room of Her Own

I'm going through blog withdrawal! This last week I've been tackling order in my sewing room again. This time I bought the proper storage cabinets. I was tired of trying to make room where there isn't any. I purchased two more white bookcases from Target & two white taller dressers (still to be assembled). I am stripping off the old pink floral wallpaper & going with my favorite color of paint, in the aqua range which goes with most of my "stuff". I have three walls stripped & two & 1/2 walls painted. Today I'm painting the rest of the third wall then I may take a 2 day rest before tackling the last wall & dressers. Now that I've gone through everything in the room I know where everything is!

Out with the old pink.

Come on hubby, time to put together those other two bookcases.

In with the aqua. Instead of doing wallpaper again (ugh) I'm making my own. Just paint with a randomly placed silvery gold fleur de lys stencil. Easy peasy.

Basket o' fabrics

Mom's china cups & saucers & a few of my own. See the little teeny pink tea set on the saucer. I always wanted to play with it with my dolls & mom would never let me. Aren't I glad she didn't. They would be long gone by now. My dad would take my brother & me to pick out a new tea cup every mother's day. I also love the little chocolate cups on top.
