We are having another Barn Sale holiday boutique!

This one is at Shirley's house.  Her husband just finished building a giant building/RV garage/barn.  It is barely finished & already the "girls" have taken it over.

Shirley & I will be there with our treasures.  Our quilting friend Eileen may be there too.  Poor Eileen recently fractured her wrist.  Hugs to Eileen.

On my last thrift store outing with Shirley I picked up this vintage Toni doll.  She needs a little TLC.  I already took off her torn ruffled collar & may add some rickrack to her cute rabbit dress.  She needs a new pair of shoes & socks & a good hair brushing.  Other than that she is perfect.  I've only got a blurry little cell phone pic so far but will take a better one when she is all "dolled" up. 

 

My little Steiff's sit on my desk to keep me company.  Love them both but little Sparky (Ginny's Pup) I've had since I was a child. 

We had a cold spell & snow for a day recently but now it's sunny & bright again.  View from my front door.

Catching Up

 On Day II of the barn sale I did not take too many pictures.  Here is a collage of some of Lisa's jewelry.  Lisa has been a busy girl lately.  This weekend she is one of the appraisers at the Carson Valley Antique Show.  She really knows her dolls & jewelry, among other antiques.

Below is some Shirley bling she brought to show us but not for sale.  I don't blame her.

 

This a new found photo of one of my beautiful aunts.  She is 19  here & she roller skated professionally with a husband & wife team.  This was in 1937.  She lived years in Minden, NV just a few miles from where we live now.  A distant relative found my family tree online & contacted me to send me this picture. Thanks Roma. 

 

 I was looking at some of my antique buttons this morning & decided  to make a button cuff bracelet to wear.  Better than keeping them in a drawer don't you think?

 

The cute little trinket dish was a find this weekend at the antique show.  I love the little raised flowers. 

 

I have busily been working on my hexagon project while traveling & watching tv.

Barn Antique Sale - Day 1

The evening before the sale the vendors had a nice barbeque at the Jacobs Berry Farm. 

 
 
 

DAY ONE

We had a wonderful turnout for our 1st sale.  A  few highlights for day 1.  Shirley, Lisa & I were on the lawn under the shade of some great trees.

Upcoming Berry Farm Antique Sale

 
Shirley & I drove by the Berry Farm today to see the Barn Sale/Antique Sale set up. 

 
Here is the old barn that is being refurbished inside.  I think there will be about 15 vendors inside.  The rest of us will be out under the trees on the lawn.

 
There are several out buildings.  This one seems to be used as a shed.

 Here is the historic house.  The section on the left was built around 1860 & then add ons were made.

 

Then the tree contains a large bird house with an owl family, parents & three babies.  One of the babies is sitting in the tree just to the left & up a little from the birdhouse.

 

 
A guest house as well.  Diana, the owner said they put out some signs already with the dates of next weekend but people were already streaming in today to buy stuff.  It starts at 8 & I hear people are coming earlier so we will be setting up early. Here is the Craigslist add.

After this we went antiquing & garage saleing again, wow.  Two days in a row!  Get ready soon as Shirley will be starting her own blog about antiquing & thrifting.  We were running names by each other & think we have one picked out.  More later.

 

Barn Sale in Nevada next month

One of the ladies from a local antique shop is planning her 1st annual BARN SALE!  My friend Shirley will be there with her antiques & I will be there with my quilt goodies.  If you are in the Gardnerville, Nevada area please stop by.  And ... of all places to have it ... THE BERRY FARM!   No, not my Berry Farm : )
