Turkeys & Lace

I think this will be the most relaxed Thanksgiving I've ever had.  Just me, mom & Don.  No other relatives, no kids, etc.  I've been cooking Thanksgiving dinner for the whole gang for years.  My brother's family are all in Hawaii for the week & grandkids spending the day with the other side of the family.  So, I'll kick my heels up this year as it probably won't happen again.   I hope everyone else has a wonderful day :  )

 

I'm throwing in a few other photos of a big of vintage laces I found at a thrift shop when I was in Visalia last month.  They were all stuffed into a large zip lock & I really had no idea what all was in there.  What I could see through the bag looked good.  Wow, what a treasure bag,  tons of stuff, all folded & rolled up turned out to be much more than I imagined.  I think there was a whole Victorian wedding dress cut up into different sections along with other goodies.  One of those rare finds that you can't believe you found.

Trims with a silk J Jill skirt underneath.  Again, all this stuff was stuffed into a gallon zip lock.

I love the little hand clip too. 

 

I'm not sure what this is.  The dark rose piece is like a stiff board covered in velvet.  Then a lace hankie (?) with corners folded up & ribbons tied, possibly to hold rings on a ring bearer's pillow for a wedding. 

Quilt Sneak Peaks

Here are some sneak peaks at my next pattern sample fresh back from being quilted.  All (ha ha) I have to do now is write up the pattern directions.   Those of us who design quilt patterns know that this is the hard part.  So.... hopefully this will be done soon ;  )   I still haven't named it yet.  I'm calling it the Eiffel Tower quilt for the time being.  It's romantic, flowery & French. 

If anyone has suggestions for the pattern name I'm all ears.

Connie's Trunk Show at Sweet Magnolia's

Connie Govea Stuart had another trunk show at Sweet Magnolia's in Danville yesterday. I while I was out & about yesterday I also picked up a new quilt from the long arm quilter.  After I put the binding on I print up the instructions I'll show you.  It is very French - y!  A new pattern for Berryvine Designs.
