Home Decorating
It was only two to three years ago that I spent weeks scraping the old American Country blue wallpaper off my kitchen only to replace it with yellow paint for a French Country look. I have cobalt blue tile & lots of blue accessories in there. After that I swore I'd never put up wallpaper again. I'm getting too old for this hard work!
Now I'm thinking new wallpaper for my sewing room. Oh NO! I've had the same pink floral on those walls for about 20 yrs & I'm thinking in AQUA, LIGHT BLUE OR GREEN for a fresh change. I would have to move a ga-zillion things to get to those walls. There is wallpaper on the top, then chair molding & paint on the bottom. The carpet is a tan color.
I love to look at wallpaper books though & brought two books home - here are a few peeks:
This is the one I'm leaning towards.
These are a few paint samples that I liked. I'll have to go back & get a few more to really go with the wallpaper. I love the beachy colors.
The rest are pretty samples out of the same two books. Pretty birdies, damask & toile.
I am still working on removing the old stain & scratches on my recent dresser find. I may leave it new oak stain finish after all & keep it in my kitchen for table cloths, etc. Then in my sewing room sand & paint ( off white or one of these pretty paint colors above) my old childhood maple dressers because I am so tired at looking at their maple stain, chips & all.

F Kitty, love them! Especially the first with the birds and the fifth one with roses. Very lovely. Also, think the oak will be so nice with your dining room table. Pretty, pretty!

OHMY how will you decide. I would never have the energy for it, lots of stuff on your walls etc... but it would be oh so pretty!

That last paper reminds me of William Morris fabrics and designs--have you seen that there's a new line of William Morris fabric out? I feel your pain on the wallpaper scraping--been there, done that in a small bathroom, so when I replaced the paper, I got type that will just peel off when you're tired of it (but WON'T simply fall off the wall from shower steam!). The down side? I painted the top part of the walls without properly preparing them first, and my paint has alligatored. ARGH! There's really never an end to it, but then it gives us a good reason to change the decor! ROFLOL!

J'adore la toile de jouy, les scènes champêtres sont d'une réelle beauté !

I would be thrilled with any of those patterns! And yes, I am the same way, said I would never have wallpaper again, but I just did a wallpaper project this week.
