I just wanted to wish everyone a wonderful time for the holidays.

Also, I have just updated the Connie photo album with lots of new pictures. Here is a preview of her pretty ornaments.
*** CHRISTMAS POLL ***
I am taking a poll here about Christmas Newsletters. You know, when someone sends you a typed newsletter instead of a Christmas card telling you all about what they have been up to for the last year. Personally I enjoy reading them but not everyone does.
1. Do you like receiving the newsletters in the mail at Christmas time?
2. What about emailed newsletters?
~~~ BUTTONS by Ruth~~~
My computer is back & still having problems but I can at least post part II of the button photos. Ruth can be contacted for button purchase appointments, in single visits
or groups up to 5. She lives in Contra Costa County & her phone number is: 925 -937-1463. Tell her Sandy & Connie sent you.
I'll start off with the 50's/60's green & red Christmas colored buttons .
*** THANK YOU GIFTS ***
Aside from seeing all the pretty buttons that day I received pretty little gifties from Connie GS.
Isn't it pretty! It's a collage inside a pocket watch.
She was wearing one herself that day!
And this sweet art piece. I just LOVE anything with her little coin purses.
AND ... a big giant paper cone which I haven't photographed yet but will. Shirley & I went to her house this week as well & I took many more photographs to update her photo gallery for my next post.
Boo hoo! We are going to have to wait to see more button photos. My computer is in the hospital. Keep good thoughts that it can be fixed & I don't need a new one. At least I had just backed up all my files. Perish the thought.
I'm on my husband's computer & my regular photos are not available here, just family photos & guy stuff. I hate to post with no photos so here is a pic of my one of my maternal grandfather's sisters, Anna Magdelena.
My dad right & his brother left.
Unknown maternal ancestors
My maternal grandmother second from left. Love the hats!
... Who's got the button? Connie's friend Ruth does.
Yesterday I met up with Connie GS & another friend Geri at Ruth's home. Ruth has been collecting vintage buttons practically her whole life & what a treat to see them. She graciously let me take photos for el bloggo. Feast for your eyes button lovers : ) Rhinestones, metal, steel cut, mother of pearls, realistics, china, enamel, plastic, bakelite & more.
Are you drooling yet?
Believe it or not this is only scratching the surface!
Edited on 12/21/2007: If you love old buttons & would like to purchase from Ruth send me an email through my profile link. She sells to select people from her home in the S. F. bay area. "Some" of the buttons shown are in her own personal collection & not available for purchase. You would need to make an appointment with her to see the available ones & there are MANY, MANY!
More photos in the next post : )
With all the cupcake talk I designed a cupcake graphic similar to my quilt for my Cafe Press shop. There are lots of t shirts to choose from in many sizes & other fun gifts too.
The winning three cupcake patterns have been mailed out. Also, Amy has selected a winner for her cupcake mini quilt.
There is also a new Christmas design for this year.
And ... speaking of Christmas Don & I have been elfed!
You can have some fun with this one by elfing yourself : )
The other day I made the rounds for a fun day. First I went to In Between Stitches to drop off some patterns. Next antiquing in Livermore where I found a few fun vintage ornaments. Aren't they pretty. I love the little Santa with the symbols which so reminds me of my 1950's childhood Christmas.
On my way out of town I saw a Goodwill & another thrift store with a 50% off sale so had to check them out. I found a few treasures on sale. When I saw this mannequin in the store window I flew into the store to see how much it was. It was only $3.00 and in wonderful new condition! I mean can a girl have too many mannequins? Don't answer that.
Then I headed to American Harvest in Pleasanton to see all the holiday glitter. Sharon & Roger were on their way out when I got there but she graciously allowed me to take pictures. Here are some glittery treasures.
Here is one of Connie Govea Stuart's gems. The bottom of this is an actual clam shell with a paper top & fun embellishments. I love it!! Connie has other art there as well. Rather than posting her art twice I will put the rest in her Gallery. See the left hand photo album section.
I'll bet this a Donna crown!
I know THIS is a Donna crown & scepters on the counter as they said she just dropped them off. Rat's, just missed meeting her. I'll bet ...
this is a Donna box as it was right next to the crown.
Lovely Santos
A fun CUPCAKE by Michelle Legler. We know I l ove cupcakes : ) Check out some of her other mosaic treasures!
Debbie Thibault's yummy creations
Susan Arnot's Dolls. They are so sweet. I have one of her Halloween china head CUPCAKE dolls. See more in her Etsy shop.
Here is the darling HAT tree!
My next treat was a date with Connie G S for another antiquing adventure. A few more treasures were found.
Also, a few treats from Connie
Since yesterday was my wedding anniversary I thought I'd share the card from my husband. If you are expecting a romantic card that's usually not us. We sometimes do romantic cards but mostly do funny cards. He likes the kind with cartoons & opportunities to write in silly comments.
He knows me well!
