Cupcake Giveaway!

I'm seeing cupcakes everywhere!   I thought I'd start a "Cupcake Gallery".  If anyone uses my cupcake pattern, take a picture & send it to me or let me know if it's on your blog & I have permission to put it in the gallery.  It can be the whole quilt - 9 cupcakes, small quilt - 4 cupcakes (as PKM did) or just one cupcake with the  9 patch & striped border  (as Amy did).  I love seeing how it looks in all the pretty fabrics out there.

Also if you leave a comment on this post let me know if you are a quilter & I'll put you in for a pattern giveaway.  I'm giving away 2-3 patterns for this cupcake quilt.

The patterns can be purchased either through my pattern website, my Etsy shop & it's making it's way to quilt shops.  I just dropped some off today at In Between Stitches in Livermore, Ca.  where PKM works.

Yeah Pam & Ellizabeth!

Have you seen the brand new McCalls Quilting magazine?  There is an article about quilting blogs & Pam & Elizabeth from Late Bloomer Quilts are mentioned among others.

French Kitty  (my Halloween self) is so happy for them : )

Celebrations

I can't believe that Christmas is almost here.  Saturday will the Dec 1st.  Saturday is my 28th wedding anniversary which is also hard to believe.

Every year I tell myself do not buy one more Christmas ornament and every year I fail.  This year I couldn't resist these 50% off nostalgic ornaments at Kohls.  I believe I got the last bunch at my local Kohls.

I LOVE THEM!  I think I will start decorating this weekend.

Oopsie.  Can everyone else see my reflection in the ornament wearing my bathrobe?  I tried leaning to the side but these ornaments are just too darned reflective.

Let's see how many I can manage to drop & break this year.

And how could I resist this one for my much loved Billy Martin who died on Christmas day many years ago.

Okay gang, I'm off to read a few blogs then work on pattern directions.  Have a great day!

A Gaggle of Cousins & In Laws

I don't think I've bored you yet with the photos of my nephew's housewarming.  He just built a beautiful new home in Pleasanton.    It was sort of like a family reunion.

My Cupcake Quilt Pattern

Pam is making my cupcake pattern in pastels & it's looking mighty darned cute.  Love her fabric choices.  Next she'll be blanket stitching around the pieces.     I've just added 6 more to Etsy this morning.

THANKSGIVING DAY

Christinalindaelizabethrita22nov0_2

Don was busy taking photos of "the girls" (his daughter, our two granddaughters & my mom) we heard lots of sirens outside getting closer.  We went outside to what what was going on & discovered that our neighbor's house was ON FIRE!

Woodglenfire22nov077a

It was a half block down from our house.   The worst part was ...

Woodglenfire22nov078a

It took the guys about 10 minutes to get the fire hydrant plug off.  That's a long time when your roof is in flames.  They jumped up & down on it & hit it with a sledge hammer several time & eventually   (after the roof was half gone) they got the hose hooked up.  Our poor neighbors.  They were neighbors we didn't know but what a Thanksgiving for them!

MAGAZINES

~Somerset~

This was a surprise.  I received a copy of this magazine in the mail.  It was my free artists copy but I didn't know it.  I had sent these bottles in some time ago & they said they were saving them for a future issue but no mention of when that was.

My Pal Pam Kitty

You've gotta check out Pam's purse patterns through Late Bloomer Quilts.  Her first actual printed designs!    Make more Pam, make more :  )

Here she is at Quilt Market

This cute little purse in the lower left corner is her "Little Purse"

This is her "Market Bag".  I just received my pattern for this today to make one.  I carry everything with me, snacks, camera, sometimes a soda or water & the usual other things.

More cute little purses, so sweet & cute

And another .   Isn't it elegant in black?  I can see this for an evening purse with a little black dress.

Sewing Day

I pulled myself away from blog reading to get some sewing done today.  Not all fun sewing but some mending mixed in.

1.   Hem mom's pants - done this morning
2.  Put seam binding on quilt - done this morning

Img_0976

Hm, the binding looks pretty good with this pillow too

Img_0974

There is something about putting binding on that I enjoy.  Maybe it's because the quilt is FINISHED!

Img_0977

Here we go 'round the corner

Img_0978

Watch out for those little pinkies!  My aunt once sewed through her finger & I think of that every time my fingers get close to the needle.

Img_0981

Mini Scottie warned me I'd run out of bobbin thread but I didn't listen.

Img_0952

Isn't this the coolest 60's jacket.  It makes me think of artists smocks.  All I need is a beret & some brushes.  Pink polished cotton from the vintage sale. AND ... under $2.00!  The buttons alone ....

Img_0953

Still to do:

3.  Stitch up torn seam - do this afternoon
4.  Sew patch on Don's vest - do this afternoon
